The A/A+ class participant exhibits most or all of the following behaviors:

• Attends class faithfully
• Is on-time every day
• Is always prepared with the proper materials and has them out at the start of class
• Participates consistently, respectfully, and constructively
• Always listens to others and improves the learning community
• Shows interest in and enthusiasm for class
• Is always on-task in large and small group settings (or when working individually)
• Is a thoughtful listener who takes notes without needing prompting
• Is responsible and trustworthy in the classroom

The B/B+ class participant exhibits most or all of the following behaviors:

• Attends class faithfully
• Is on-time every day, except once or twice and is not disruptive when entering late
• Is generally prepared with the proper materials and has them out at the start of class
• Participates occasionally and is generally always respectful and constructive; may help create a better learning community
• May show interest in and enthusiasm for class but may need to be reminded to listen to what others have to say
• Is generally on-task in large and small group settings or when working individually, but may need occasional prompting
• Is a thoughtful listener who takes notes with occasional prompting
• Is responsible and trustworthy in the classroom

The C/C+ class participant exhibits most or all of the following behaviors:

• Attends class on an irregular basis
• Is late more than three times per quarter, but is otherwise generally on time
• Is unprepared regularly or needs to be reminded to take materials out
• Participates rarely. May not be respectful or constructive; may be a detractor to a positive learning community
• Shows little interest in and enthusiasm for class; asks to leave (go to the bathroom, locker) regularly; may be a negative presence for the class
• Is sometimes on-task in large and small group settings but needs to be reminded regularly
• Listens inconsistently and only takes notes when prompted
• Is responsible and trustworthy in the classroom

The D or F class participant exhibits most or all of the following behaviors:

• Cuts class or misses class regularly. May abuse the sign in/sign out policy
• Is late regularly (more than three times per quarter)
• Is unprepared regularly or needs to be reminded to take materials out
• Participates rarely or contributes to class in a negative way (is rude distracting, inappropriate); may be a negative presence; spoils the learning community
• Shows little to no interest in the class
• Is rarely on-task in large and small group settings and needs to be reminded or even removed
• Listens rarely and may not take notes even when prompted
• Does not practice academic honesty (has been caught cheating, plagiarizing, lying)
